The number of people who have died as a result of ‘Odette’ has risen to 81.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) announced on Tuesday that 81 people have died as a result of Typhoon Odette’s attack.
The number of confirmed injuries and missing persons as a result of the typhoon is 188 and six, respectively, according to the latest data from the agency.
Reports of 324 dead people, 1,073 injured people, and 65 missing people are still being verified.
Western Visayas has the most verified deaths, with 46; Eastern Visayas has 16, Mimaropa has 12, Northern Mindanao has four, Central Visayas has two, and the Zamboanga Peninsula has one.
Meanwhile, 5,904 barangays in Mimaropa, Bicol, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, the Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, the Davao Region, Soccsksargen, Caraga, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao have been afflicted by “Odette.”
Affected families number 1,814, 538, which equates to 6,047,666 people.
59,985 households are still being helped or sheltered in 1,164 evacuation shelters, while 32,464 families are being helped outside, with the rest being helped by family and friends.
