Nearly 7,000 NCR healthcare professionals have been infected with Covid-19.
A total of 6,595 healthcare personnel in the National Capital Region (NCR) are currently under quarantine due to coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infection.
According to Leopoldo Vega, DOH Undersecretary and Treatment Czar, 7.2 percent of the 91,838 health care employees in the NCR are isolated.

According to Vega, the administration has been planning for a scenario like this since last year.
“So, roughly,” he added, “naka-position na kami ng mga 7,000 plus health care workers ang (we have positioned 7,000 plus health care workers for) augmentation for the various hospitals, isolation facilities, and testing centers.”
In order to meet the needs of hospitals, the DOH previously reduced the isolation period for fully vaccinated health care workers with zero, mild, or moderate Covid-19 symptoms to five days.
DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire told a separate online media forum that the government would not establish a policy that would endanger patients and healthcare professionals.
