32,246 new coronavirus infections were recorded by PH, with 5,063 recoveries.

On Wednesday, the Philippines recorded 32,246 new coronavirus infections and 5,063 recoveries.

Since the pandemic began in March 2020, there have been 208,164 active cases, with total recoveries reaching 2,797,816, or 91.5 percent of 3,058,634 infections, according to the most recent Covid-19 bulletin.

The number of new cases on Wednesday is greater than 28,007.

There are 197,091 mild cases, 2,872 moderate cases, 6,435 asymptomatic cases, 1,468 severe cases, and 298 critical cases among the active cases.

“Of the 32,246 cases recorded today, 31,793 (99 percent) happened over the last 14 days — December 30, 2021, to January 12, 2022,” according to the Department of Health.

The National Capital Region (NCR) had 17,902 new infections in the last two weeks, accounting for 56 percent of all new infections; Region 4-A (Calabarzon) had 6,838 new infections, accounting for 22 percent; and Central Luzon had 3,268 new infections, accounting for 10 percent.

With 144 new deaths, the death toll now stands at 52,654, or 1.72 percent of all cases.

“Due to late encoding of death information to COVIDKaya, 20 deaths occurred in January 2022 (14 percent), 8 deaths occurred in September 2021 (6 percent), 31 deaths occurred in August 2021 (22 percent), 8 deaths occurred in July 2021 (6 percent), 3 deaths occurred in June 2021 (2 percent), 13 deaths occurred in May 2021 (9 percent), 38 deaths occurred in April 2021 (26 percent), 16 deaths occurred in March 2021 (11 percent), 5 deaths occurred in February 2021 (3 percent

According to the January 10 data, 45.7 percent of the 63,903 people who were tested for Covid-19 were positive.

“The total case count was reduced by 85 duplicates since 67 of these are recoveries and one is a death,” the DOH added.

Meanwhile, after validation, 125 instances formerly categorized as recoveries were reclassified as fatalities.

On January 10, all laboratories were operational, but 11 of them were unable to submit data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System.

Based on statistics from the previous 14 days, the 11 laboratories are responsible for 3.3 percent of samples examined and 4.5 percent of positive persons, according to the DOH.

Patients with Covid-19 have used 43 percent of 3,400 ICU beds, 45 percent of 20,000 isolation beds, 43 percent of 13,400 ward beds, and 18 percent of 3,100 ventilators nationwide to date.

In the meanwhile, the NCR has 56 percent of the 1,100 ICU beds, 55 percent of the 4,800 isolation beds, 67 percent of the 4,400 ward beds, and 24 percent of the 1,100 ventilators dedicated to Covid-19 patients.
