The Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway Corp. (CCLEC) has begun accepting online registrations for RFID (radio-frequency identification) stickers, which will be required for automobiles to pass across Cebu’s third bridge, which is expected to open early next year.

On Tuesday, the business revealed that the 8.9-kilometer Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) project was 87.14 percent complete as of the end of October.

When it opens in the first quarter of 2022, the PHP30 billion toll bridge project, which will be substantially completed by yearend, will feature an all-electronic toll collection system to provide motorists with safe and seamless transit.

The completion of the CCLEX main bridge deck, which connects Cebu City and the municipality of Cordova, is the project’s crowning achievement. The construction of the deck’s safety barrier has now begun.

“Earlier this year, we completed the installation of all 56 stay cables supporting the main bridge deck, as well as all 434 NU (Nebraska University) girders required for the project’s full stretch.” The 200-meter pedestrian walkway is also finished. “Work on the other CCLEX project parts is continuing,” CCLEC said in a statement.

Following the completion of the foundation and installation of precast boards on the Cebu South Coastal Road (CSCR) on the ramp and off ramp sections of CCLEX, work on the deck slab is already underway.

The deck slab for the Cebu viaduct is also being constructed. The Cordova viaduct, on the other hand, is now structurally complete, with work on the safety barriers beginning.

Apart from that, work on the toll plaza, CCLEX Operations and Maintenance Center, and Toll Operations Center building is still proceeding.

CCLEX is a project of CCLEC in collaboration with the Cebu City and Cordova local governments.

CCLEC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corp., Metro Pacific Investments Corp.’s toll road arm.
