
The Comelec has begun producing ballots for the May 9 elections.
The printing of official ballots for the May 9, 2022, national and local elections began Thursday night, according to James Jimenez, a spokesman for the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
According to Jimenez, the first batch of around 60,000 ballots will be printed for Local Absentee Voting (LAV).
“At the National Printing Office (in Quezon City), the printing of official Local Absentee Voting ballots will begin tonight (about 7 p.m.),” he stated in a statement.
He stated that 79,000 manual ballots for abroad voters will be printed next, followed by 86,000 ballots for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
“There are no preprinted candidate names on the LAV, manual OFOV, or BARMM ballots,” Jimenez explained.
For the national and local elections, the polling organization will print around 67 million ballots.
