In Zambo City, the Comelec has identified common poster sites.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has begun designating locations in this southern port city that will serve as common poster areas.

The decision was made in preparation for the commencement of the campaign period for national candidates on February 8, according to first district election officer Stephen Roy Canete.

On March 25, candidates for local elected positions will begin their campaigns.

On May 7, the election season for both local and national posts will come to a close.

“We initially picked one location on the east coast, or the second district, to serve as a shared poster area,” Canete added.

He stated that the front portion of the Integrated Bus Terminal (IBT) in the region has been classified as one of the district’s common poster spaces.

Rafael Derick Evangelista III, the IBT supervising transportation regulation officer, met with Canete and lawyer Verly Tabangcura-Adanza, the second district election officer, on Thursday to discuss the identification of the shared poster area in the IBT field.

Because plazas, marketplaces, and barangay centers are often visited by people and automobiles, the Comelec usually defines them as common posting locations.

Campaign posters put outside of the approved zones, according to Canete, will be removed.

He also stated that campaign posters will only be permitted in certain areas once the campaign period begins.

He advised that any poster or billboard placed in the shared poster area before the formal campaign time begins would be removed immediately.
