On Monday, the local government began a drive-through vaccination program for coronavirus illness (Covid-19) booster doses.

The rollout was effective, according to Jeck Conlu, spokeswoman for the Iloilo City Covid Team, because the process was faster, allowing individuals with automobiles to simply drop by the two sites.

“It yields positive results. “Taxi and tricycle drivers even came by to get their booster shots,” he said.

He stated they could serve to roughly 100 people each at the SM Strata and Megaworld Transport Hub as of lunchtime.

Conlu stated that they plan to vaccinate roughly 300 people per day.

He noted that, aside from the issue of traffic congestion on the service road, which they had foreseen, they had not observed any other potential concerns that could arise from the drive-through vaccination.

He also stated that they will wait one week to determine if they are ready to provide second dosages.

“For the time being, we will just provide booster shots. “Hopefully, we’ll be able to expand our drive-thru,” he remarked.

To accommodate more people who want to get their booster shot, the local government decided to build a drive-thru.

Pfizer booster injections are available at the SM Strata drive-through for city residents and those working and immunized in Iloilo City.

Megaworld will be open to the public, whether or not they are citizens of the city, and will have the Moderna vaccination.

Aside from the drive-through, vaccinations are still being given out in SM City Southpoint, Robinsons-Jaro, Megaworld Transport Hub, and district health offices in the city.

The local government had registered 435,510 fully immunized individuals as of January 20.
