Solon aims to make the booster vaccination process simple and painless.
Local government units (LGUs) with online vaccine registration should no longer require aged registrants to sign-up and schedule their booster doses, according to a party-list lawmaker on Monday.
Representative Angelica Natasha Co of the BHW Party-list believes the database should include information on those who have already received their primary dosage.
LGUs, according to Co, should either allow all previously registered individuals to go into vaccination sites or establish separate lanes for walk-ins and newly-registered individuals.
“‘Kailangan pang mag-register ulit online for sa booster injections ang mga nakakatapos na ng primary doses?’
Is it true that if sino-sino ang mga nakatapos na sa main dosage, nakasaad naman sa database? (Why do they need to register for booster shots again online when they’ve already had their initial doses? Is there no information in the database about individuals who finished their primary doses? ), “she stated
She believes the Department of Health and the local government should take the effort to contact those who have already registered.
“Make it easy for our folks to do things,” she said.
Filipinos who want booster doses should bring their immunization card to identify the date of their second dose and verify it with the DOH database, LGU’s according to her.
In response to the threat of the Omicron coronavirus variety, DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III previously stated that the country’s vaccine experts panel will officially suggest the delivery of a booster dosage three months after getting the second dose.
He stated that all Covid-19 vaccination brands that were licensed as boosters would be affected.
“I’d also like to emphasize the necessity of minimal public health standards and vaccination, whether the spike is Alpha, Beta, Deltaโnow we’re looking at Omicron, still the same,” he stated.
Adults should have boosters six months after their second dose of Moderna, Sinovac Pfizer, Sputnik V, or AstraZeneca vaccine, with the exception of the single-dose Janssen vaccine, which requires only three months.
Duque, on the other hand, claimed that data on the efficiency of Covid-19 vaccinations against the Omicron strain is constantly being collected.
“We’re gathering data from the ground. What have been the clinical outcomes in terms of vaccinations’ effect on the Omicron variation? “He went on to say that further information about the newly discovered variant was required.
