MANILA, Philippines — As of Wednesday, the number of active coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases in the Philippine National Police (PNP) had decreased to 166.

According to the PNP’s latest Covid-19 monitoring, this is down from Tuesday’s 202 active cases.

Only six new infections were reported, the lowest number since January 14, when 548 new cases were reported.

Since the pandemic began in March 2020, the PNP has recorded 42 new recoveries, bringing the overall number of recovered personnel to 48,456 out of a total of 48,750 confirmed cases.

As of this moment, there have been no further fatalities, bringing the total number of deaths to 128.

Meanwhile, 96.67 percent of PNP employees are fully vaccinated, or 219,632 out of a total of 224,875 troops.

Those waiting for a second dose are assigned to 1.98 percent (4452) of the population, while those who have not been vaccinated are assigned to 0.35 percent (791).

A total of 107,889 police officers (or 49.12 percent) had received a booster or third shot.
