MANILA, Philippines — The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) has launched mobile hotlines to receive concerns about red tape, making it easier for the public to make complaints against erring government offices.

Jeremiah Belgica, the director general of the ARTA, said the agency is now receiving more complaints, therefore it is adding more avenues for citizens to report red tape situations in government offices.

“This is a good problem to have since it indicates more Filipinos are becoming aware of ARTA’s services and we’re getting more allies in the fight against red tape,” Belgica said in a statement released Wednesday.

If the public has concerns or complaints about government processes, fixers, bribery, or inefficient government services, they are encouraged to call the ARTAwag Center at 0965-672-4943 and 0916-266-3138 for Globe and TM subscribers, and 0969-257-7242 and 0969-516-7765 for Smart, TNT, and Sun subscribers.

This is in addition to the Citizens’ Complaint Center or the Hotline 8888.

Calls to the ARTAwag Center are accepted Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

ARTA can be contacted via email at complaints@arta.gov.ph, over the phone at 8888, on its website arta.gov.ph, and on social media at Anti-Red Tape Authority on Facebook, and @artagovph on Twitter and Instagram.

The agency has opened the ARTAmbayan Outpost in Quezon City’s Barangay Pinyahan, where the public can report red tape concerns.
