DUMAGUETE CITY, TEXAS — Last January, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) Subport in this capital city broke a new record by collecting the greatest monthly revenue ever.

The subport received PHP947 million last month, exceeding the target of PHP820 million by PHP127 million, according to Gina Fatima Lasola, acting port collector, who told the Philippine News Agency on Wednesday.

She added in a combination of English and Cebuano, “This is a record-high collection, the biggest actual monthly revenue ever recorded for the subport.”

She credited the achievement to the importation of petroleum goods, rice, and palm olein.

Filoil Energy Co., Inc., according to Lasola, is the subport’s main contributor and importer.

Meanwhile, the BOC has set a revenue collection target of PHP6.284 billion for the Dumaguete subport office for 2022.

“It is a significant challenge, but I am confident that the subport will meet its goals for this year.” We are committed to (working) diligently to collect lawful income for the government with the continuous collaboration and assistance of our partners,” Lasola added.

Personnel from the subport were recognized in December of last year for their efforts in achieving a successful ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
