MANILA – Rains will fall in parts of the country on Saturday, courtesy of the shear line in eastern central and southern Luzon and the northeast monsoon, popularly known as “amihan,” in the northern portion and the rest of central Luzon.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 4 a.m. weather report that easterlies will bring cloudy skies with sporadic rain showers and thunderstorms to the Caraga region.

The shear line, which is the confluence of northeasterly and easterly winds that generate rain clouds, will bring gloomy skies to Aurora and Quezon.

The “amihan” will bring partly overcast to the cloudy sky with isolated light rainfall to the Ilocos, Cordillera, and Cagayan Valley areas, as well as the rest of central Luzon.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have a partly cloudy to cloudy sky with scattered rain showers brought on by localized thunderstorms.

Northern Luzon, the eastern half of central and southern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao will be hit by moderate to strong northeasterly winds.

Light to moderate northeasterly winds will affect the rest of the country.

Metro Manila will have temperatures ranging from 23°C to 33°C; Baguio City will have temperatures ranging from 14°C to 23°C; Puerto Princesa City will have temperatures ranging from 25°C to 31°C; Metro Cebu will have temperatures ranging from 25°C to 31°C; Cagayan de Oro City will have temperatures ranging from 24°C to 28°C, and Metro Davao will have temperatures ranging from 24°C to 29°C.
