MANILA – When full in-court hearings begin on Tuesday, the Sandiganbayan anti-graft court will impose rigorous admission regulations.

Before entering the court, all users must be completely vaccinated or have negative antigen/reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test results.

Only in unusual circumstances may videoconferencing hearings be held.

“All lawyers, parties, witnesses, and court users who are not fully vaccinated or who are unable to adequately present copies of their vaccination cards shall be required to present a laboratory-confirmed or professionally conducted negative antigen or RT-PCR test result taken within a maximum of 48 hours before entry into the Sandiganbayan,” Presiding Justice Amparo Cabotaje-Tang wrote in an administrative order.

The ruling lifts the requirement that antigen test results be submitted regardless of vaccination status, which was enacted in October of last year.

The Office of the Special Prosecutor requested that the earlier antigen testing requirement be reconsidered.

The Sandiganbayan en banc voted on February 24 to eliminate the restriction if court users can show copies of their properly issued immunization and/or booster cards.
