Antique SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA. Beginning March 27, 2022, Philippine Airlines (PAL), the lone airline carrier traveling from NAIA to Antique Airport, will raise the frequency of its flight from one to three times each week.

In an interview on Wednesday, Antique Governor Rhodora J. Cadiao remarked, “I am glad for the PAL manager (Ricky Dela Cruz) alerting me of the additional flights.”

According to Cadiao, the additional flights will undoubtedly boost the province’s economy because tourists and other visitors from Metro Manila can now easily travel to Antique and vice versa.

The governor and her province colleagues have long wished for an airline that will serve the province.

Every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday am, PAL’s turbo propeller will fly to Antique.

Cadiao is pushing Antiquenos to fly with PAL when traveling to their home province, claiming that the higher flight is due to the high volume of passengers flying to the region.

“The PAL passenger capacity is 80 people every aircraft, but it gets 60 or even more,” she explained.

PAL is the sole airline that has accepted the provincial government’s offer to fly in Antique, having launched its first flight on December 16, 2018.

After the last airline, Asian Spirit ceased operations roughly 14 years ago, the airline firm was essential in the restoration of the airport to commercial flights.

Many travelers from the province who wanted to travel to Metro Manila before PAL began operations chose to take the roll-on-roll-off (Ro-ro) service in the nearby province of Aklan, which offered a lower fare rate.
