A senator’s bet-lawyer was suspended after a verbal attack.
Indefinitely, the Supreme Court has banned Lorenzo “Larry” Gadon from practicing law because he made rude comments about a journalist.
Tuesday, the tribunal said the court en banc ordered Gadon to be put on a “preventive suspension” and told him to explain why he should not be disbarred in 10 days.
The suspension takes effect right away and will last until the Court lifts it.
Gadon’s problems started when a video of him swearing at journalist Raissa Robles was put on the Internet on December 15. Robles had called presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. a tax evader.
The SC said that Gadon did the same thing in the past, which is why the SC and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines have filed disbarment complaints against him.
The Office of the Bar Confidant was told to keep track of the administrative cases against Gadon and report on the charges.
