BUTUAN CITY, PHILIPPINES – The Caraga Region’s active coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases have been reduced to 42, according to the regional health office.

The Department of Health – Caraga (DOH-13) reported in its weekly report released Monday afternoon that the 42 remaining active cases were registered from March 27 to April 2.

The figure is down three from the 45 active cases documented from March 20 to March 26, according to the agency.

It also said that 26 additional infections were reported this week, increasing the total number of cases in the region to 58,798 since the pandemic was proclaimed two years ago.

“During the week, twenty-six fresh recoveries were also registered, bringing the overall number of recoveries in the region to 56,579,” according to the DOH-13.

There have been no new deaths in the region in the last week, bringing the total number of deaths to 2,177.

As of Monday, the DOH-13 reported that 3,151,529 doses of Covid-19 vaccination had been administered in the region.

The current number of completely vaccinated individuals in the region is 66.9% of the region’s vaccine-eligible population.
