Lacson seems unconcerned by the results of the current Pulse Asia poll.

MANILA, Philippines โ€” Despite finishing fifth in the latest Pulse Asia pre-election poll, independent presidential contender Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson says he would not drop out of the campaign.

“I’m not bothered by the polls. As we have stated, all of the rallies that we have attended have had a direct connection with the people, and we will continue to do so “In an interview with reporters, he stated. “We’re going to see this through. ‘Yan ang maliwanag (That’s obvious)”

Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. received 56 percent support in the Pulse Asia survey, which polled 2,400 respondents from March 17 to 21. Vice President Leni Robredo received 24 percent.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso came in third with 8%, Senator Manny Pacquiao came in fourth with 6%, and Lacson came in fifth with 2%.

He said that his ground experience was different, recalling a sortie in Bohol where he and his company were greeted cordially by the villagers.

“Ito may kumpas di namin ine-expect ganoon ka-warm, hindi naman ito scripted. The Sa Capitol Building itself, as well as the fact that it is located in Bohol. We were not anticipating such a nice welcome, this was not choreographed, no one was signaling or giving instructions, on the Capitol Building itself, and this is in Bohol, no local officials carried us there, we observed that the reception was spontaneous) “Added he.

People who want to vote for Lacson shouldn’t be concerned about his poll ratings, he said.

He stated that they have heard similar feelings on the campaign road from people who want to vote for him but are afraid of losing.

He urged voters to reject such thinking and to vote for the person they believe is best equipped to lead the country.

Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, Lacson’s running mate, said survey companies should be held responsible for the Filipinos’ misery.

“If polling firms are held accountable for the hardship of the majority of our people who continue to live in horrible conditions,” he added in a statement, “then polling firms should also be held accountable for the plight of our people who continue to live in terrible conditions.”

“May nagawa ba para umunlad ang bansa yung mga nanalo sa survey noong nakaraang eleksyon? Is it possible to katiyakan ang mahirap kung sila nga ang mananalo? What is the kanilang naging ambag to umunlad ang Pilipino buhay? (Have those who won polls in previous elections done anything to better the country’s situation? Is there any guarantee that if they win, the number of destitute Filipinos will decrease? What is their contribution to the betterment of Filipinos’ lives).”

Sotto came in second in the same poll, behind Davao City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte.
