MANILA, Philippines — The Archdiocese of Pampanga’s 157 active clergy members have voiced their support for presidential candidate Vice President Leni Robredo and her running mate, Senator Francis Pangilinan.

“We are convinced that their well-thought-out governing platform embodies the Christian worldview. The priests wrote in a statement released on the archdiocese’s website on Friday, “We feel they are the most competent and morally credible leaders our beloved and benighted country needs.”

The priests stated that they are looking for applicants who work for the greater good.

“We believe that servant leader who hold themselves accountable to the people they serve, maintain the highest level of openness in their administration, and encourage us to do right by our fellow Filipinos are most suited to serve the common good,” they added.

They stated that they support a government that values each individual’s life and promotes everyone’s well-being in their endorsement.

They also urged the Kapampangan faithful to think, decide, and make decisions based on these ideals and their conscience.

Vicar General Fr. Francis Dizon, chancellor Fr. Danny Nacpil, and Fr. Victor Nicdao, Rector of the Mother of Good Counsel Seminary, were among those who signed the declaration.

Earlier, clergy from the Infanta Prelature expressed their support for Robredo and Pangilinan in the upcoming elections, saying it is their moral responsibility “to protect the future of the youth and future generations.”
