Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity, called on Filipinos to begin the healing and reconciliation process from the “animosity of partisan politics.”

Galvez urged the people to put aside differences caused by the national and municipal elections during the Peace Partners’ Recognition Day of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity on Monday at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.

“We appeal to the Filipino people to unite.” The election is concluded. As we proceed toward national healing and reconciliation, let us strive together to bring down the barriers of partisan politics’ divisiveness, hatred, and animosity,” Galvez stated.

People should respect the majority’s decision and help newly elected government members “as they take over the reins of nation-building,” the peace adviser hoped.

Galvez also expressed optimism that the country’s new administration will lead a collective effort to achieve a just and enduring peace.

Galvez, a former chief of the Philippine Armed Forces, also served as the head of the National Task Force Against Covid-19, which was in charge of acquiring Covid-19 vaccines and developing pandemic response plans.
