Malacanang’s website is down for maintenance: Museum management

MANILA – The museum administration said on Monday night that the official website of Malacanang, which also houses the Presidential Museum and Library (PML), is temporarily unavailable due to material upgrades.

Concerns that historical records, particularly those from the Martial Law regime, had been removed from the PML’s website prompted the publishing of this statement.

“Please be advised that, contrary to reports to the contrary, the website malacanang.gov.ph has been suspended pending the completion of efforts to update the material and improve security features,” the PML announced on its official Facebook page.

All historical records are also intact, according to the museum administration.

“Relax, the contents of the aforementioned website have not been tampered with and will be made available to the public as soon as feasible.” “Thank you,” it continued.

The PML is responsible for maintaining, managing, and promoting the Philippine presidency’s history and heritage.

The website was updated a few days after the May 9 elections, which showed presumed president Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. winning the presidential race by more than 31 million votes to Vice President Leni Robredo’s 14 million votes.

Former President Ferdinand Marcos Srson .’s and namesake is Marcos.

Manolo Quezon III, a former Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office Undersecretary were the first to detect the website were down.

“The repositories of the Presidential Museum and Library were at malacanang.gov.ph,” Quezon remarked in a tweet.

He did say, however, that the website’s contents had previously been preserved before June 30, 2016.

“To be clear, deleting http://malacanang.gov.ph could be as simple as someone seeking the internet real estate for another government function, or a lack of interest in a museum website.” “Content there was archived in site for public access/use before June 30, 2016, hence beyond government reach,” he added.
