MANILA, Philippines — On Thursday, the Commission on Elections (Comelec), acting as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), will announce the winning party-list groups in the May 9 elections at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Forum Tent in Pasay City.

“We will adjourn for the time being and reconvene at 4 p.m. tomorrow to announce the winning party lists,” Comelec Chairman Saidamen Pangarungan stated.

The supervisory group will only inform the victorious party-list representatives, he said.

Acting Comelec spokesman John Rex Laudiangco, on the other hand, warned the winning parties that only two representatives per party list will be allowed to attend the ceremony.

Due to pending petitions against the group or nominations, the poll body has yet to announce the exact number of winning party-list groups.

Comelec Commissioner George Garcia stated that they are considering delaying the proclamation of winning party-list nominees who are facing disqualification proceedings, as well as the proclamation of winning party-list nominees who are facing disqualification cases.

“We will not issue certificates of the proclamation to the party-list themselves if there are disqualification lawsuits filed against groups,” he said.

After conducting special elections in Tubaran on Tuesday, the Comelec canvassed the last Certificate of Canvass (COC) from Lanao del Sur on Thursday.

The COC in question is the 173rd and last COC in the national and local elections on May 9th.

Six parties have met the 2% barrier, according to the most recent national count sheet for party-lists.

ACT-CIS (2,109,022), 1-Rider Party-list (1,000,343), Tingog (886,431), 4Ps (836,294), Ako Bicol (816,255), and Sagip (816,255) are the organizations (779,542).

In the House of Representatives, there are a total of 63 party-list seats to be filled.
