To assist both local small business owners and people with disabilities, the North Cotabato provincial government unveiled infrastructure projects at the capitol grounds worth PHP12 million (PWDs).

Outgoing North Cotabato Governor Nancy Catamco said in a statement on Saturday that the projects included a PHP7 million “Pasalubong (Souvenir) Center” building and a PHP5 million elevator at the main building of the provincial capitol.

After the project’s opening on Friday afternoon, Catamco said, “The ‘Pasalubong Center’ fronting the capitol grandstand will be a one-stop shop for all tourists and an avenue for our local farmers to promote their products.”

Even local farmers, according to Catamco, can exhibit their goods at the Pasalubong Center, which would eventually increase their income in the midst of the coronavirus disease 2019 epidemic.

In contrast, she continued, “the elevator at the capitol’s main building is built to provide convenience to both PWDs and older residents.”

The provincial government provided funding for the infrastructural projects.
