The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) promised to strengthen the nation’s irrigation system to fight hunger and poverty.

NIA director Benny Antiporda stressed the importance of water in the lives of Filipinos during the hybrid event, especially in light of the government’s work on the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP).

“In water, life begins with us. Water is the foundation of all nourishment; without it, there would be no life. He said in Filipino, “We guarantee that we will enhance our irrigation because of this.

Several problems and obstacles were addressed at the EPAHP Kumustahan National Performance Review Workshop to improve their performance.

While making sure to achieve its mandate, NIA emphasized its willingness to offer assistance to other organizations.

The water distribution will be improved, and no matter what assistance is required from other NIA agencies, Antiporda stated, “We are willing to go out of our way, beyond our jurisdiction, and beyond our funds just to support EPAHP to become very effective.”

The EPAHP National Program Management Department of Agriculture and the Cooperative Development Authority were two organizations that joined the NIA.

The EPAHP project aims to “mitigate hunger, food and nutrition insecurity, and decrease poverty incidence through intergovernmental and multi-sectoral cooperation.”
