2023 will be a year of peace and goodwill, according to the patriarch
Patriarch Neophyte prays for a better future and for genuine, lasting peace in every human heart around the world in a speech at the beginning of 2023.
According to him, the horror of the siblicidal war in the benevolent Eastern Orthodox Ukraine—the very center of Christian Europe—marked our existence in the year 2022.
Patriarch Neophyte stated, “That tragedy had an impact on us and our lives, producing divides and conflicts in our community and state that darkened our church and social life.
“A year of profound and true penance for our misdeeds, a year of goodwill and recovery of the peace in the entire globe,” he said, should be the theme of 2023.
