The first Bangsamoro Business Congress will be inaugurated here on Thursday, January 17, by foreign dignitaries and business representatives.

At least 200 delegates from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MTIT-BARMM) region are anticipated to attend the three-day event at the Cotabato State University here, according to Minister Abu Amri Taddik of the ministry.

Taddik stated on Monday that the event’s goal was to “strengthen and promote industry, infrastructure, and boost economic productivity that would contribute to the region’s economic progress.”

Local company owners are “socially prepared,” according to him, for networking and innovation in business, commerce, marketing, trade, and industry.

He added that local participants would be coming from the provinces of Sultan Kudarat, Koronadal, Gen. Santos, Davao, Iligan, and the Zamboanga Peninsula. He claimed that the business gathering will open a door for strong national and international partnerships, particularly with the ASEAN countries.

Apart from local delegations, officials from various embassies and foreign chambers of commerce are also anticipated, according to attorney Ronald Hallid Torres, chairman of the BARMM Business Council.

We’ll be doing business matchmaking as well as discussing a variety of themes, he added.
