The number of new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) reported daily across the nation increased by 33% between March 27 and April 2, according to a Department of Health (DOH) report released on Monday.

The FDA reported 246 cases per day, up from 185 infections between March 20 and March 26.

In the most recent week, the DOH also disclosed 1,298 new cases and 60 verified deaths.

Around 4.08 million coronavirus illnesses and more than 66,332 fatalities have been reported in the nation thus far.

The number of severe and serious infections increased from 307 to 347 during the same period.

While just 13.7 percent, or 271 out of 1,984 ICU beds, are being used, 16.5 percent, or 2,626 out of 15,936 non-ICU beds, are.

As of March 19, at least 78,443,972 people, or 100.4% of the target population for the nation (78,100,578), have received the Covid-19 vaccine, including 82.16 percent of 8,721,357 seniors.

Of of the population who has received all recommended vaccinations, 23,811,248 have received booster doses.
