PBBM promises to uphold the rights of the LGBTQ community.

Under the Marcos administration, members of the lesbian, homosexual, bisexual, transgender, queer, and more (LGBTQ+) community will not face discrimination, and their rights will be upheld.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. assured as he joined the celebration of Pride Month and promised equal treatment for LGBTQ+ people in a weekly vlog posted on his official Facebook page on Saturday night.

“During Pride Month, the LGBTQ+ community displays its support for one another. In honor of Pride Month, let’s hoist the flag for the LGBTQ+ community by showing our support by providing food, clothing, and other necessities. He stated that it is crucial to continue supporting, honoring, and recognizing them for their crucial role in our society.

Every June, there is a global celebration known as Pride Month.

As a “new and free” nation, the Philippines, according to Marcos, should be accepting of the LGBTQ+ community.

He asserted that LGBTQ+ people should be recognized for their achievements in their chosen fields.

“Ang kanilang hindi matatawarang kontribusyon sa iba’t ibang larangan, nakikipagsabayan sa kaninuman, ang mga responsible at walang kapagurang tagapagtaguyod ng pamilya at tahanan,” the author said. Their contributions to various disciplines are incalculable. Palakpakan natin sila at ipagmalaki sa kanilang pagsasabuhay ng husay at galing ng ating mga Pilipino. They are dependable and support their family financially. Let’s congratulate and honour them for demonstrating their abilities,” stated Marcos.

“Ang Pilipino ay malaya sa bagong Pilipinas,” in the same time, Filipinos are very skilled in conflict resolution and pagkutya. The Filipinos are free in the new Philippines, Iyan ang mensaheng patuloy nating paiigtingin. The Filipinos of the new generation are accepting and devoid of prejudice. We will keep hammering home that point, he continued.

The Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC) Equality Act is another goal for the LGBTQ+ movement.

The alternative bill, a compilation of eight proposals created by the technical working group, was accepted by the House Committee on Women and Gender Equality in May.

However, rejecting a license to marry is not considered a discriminatory act under the anti-discrimination law because it is not based on a person’s sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or sex characteristics.

On the other side, Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva does not believe it is urgent to pass the bill and has sent it back to the Committee on Rules, which he leads.
