🔌🌟 MANILA – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. expressed his expectations for the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) to execute all projects to enhance the electricity interconnection nationwide successfully.

In his second State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, Marcos pointed out that an Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) report identified 68 grid connection projects that have experienced significant delays.

“We look to NGCP to complete all of its deliverables, starting with the vital Mindanao-Visayas and the Cebu-Negros-Panay interconnections,” he stated.

The grid interconnection projects ensure a stable power supply among the islands. The country can operate more efficiently with a unified grid, and implementing a single electricity market for the entire nation becomes feasible.

“The ‘One Grid, One Market’ will enable more efficient transfers and more competitive electricity pricing throughout the country,” the Chief Executive emphasized.

Furthermore, Marcos shared that the government is conducting a performance review of NGCP in addition to the recently concluded audit of the company’s financial report by the Department of Energy.

As the nation seeks to strengthen its power infrastructure and enhance the accessibility of electricity, NGCP’s successful completion of its commitments will play a significant role in fostering economic growth and improving the quality of life for Filipinos. 🔌🌟
