A increasing fear among researchers is that after-school activities are pressuring children to do too much too young. They argue that when a child’s afternoon is packed with courses, field trips, sports, and other planned activities, he or she does not have time to just be a kid. Due to the fact that regular studies cannot be avoided, children are almost always on the lookout for ways to improve. These children are carrying a burden that is far too great for their tiny little shoulders to bear.

In a perfect world, all children would return home immediately after school to loving and caring parents who were expecting them.
However, due to social and economic realities, many children are forced to attend after-school programs because no one is accessible at home. These classes are a blessing for such children.

However, parents should refrain from reading too much into these activities. The nature of after-school programs is complementary. They provide further assistance. As a result, their significance should be minimized.
