MANILA, Philippines — The weather agency predicted that the low pressure area (LPA) and the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to the Visayas and Mindanao on Tuesday.

“This LPA is located along the ITCZ, which affects Mindanao. It has a limited potential of becoming a tropical cyclone, however as it moves closer to Eastern Visayas, it will deliver rain to the region “The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has a weather specialist, Samuel Duran.

The LPA was last seen near Surigao del Sur, 320 kilometers east of Hinatuan.

The northeasterly surface windflow would cause rainfall in Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Bulacan, and Calabarzon, according to PAGASA’s forecast for Tuesday.

The shear line, on the other hand, will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Bicol.

The northeasterly surface windflow will bring isolated light rainfall to the rest of Luzon.

Meanwhile, the entire archipelago will continue to see moderate to severe winds and moderate to rough seas.

The northern and eastern seaboards of Northern Luzon, as well as the eastern shoreline of Central Luzon, the western seaboard of Northern Luzon, and the eastern seaboard of Southern Luzon, are expected to experience strong to gale-force winds.

Fishing boats and other small sea vessels have been cautioned not to enter into the water, while larger sea vessels have been warned of strong waves.
