200K Christmas gift boxes have already been given out to Manilenos.
The Manila municipal government revealed on Friday that it has already given out some 200,000 Christmas food boxes to locals.
The first round of the Christmas food box distribution for this year’s #PaskongManileo2022 celebration was completed as of this morning, December 2, 2022, according to a statement from the Manila Public Information Office (MPIO), which was also joined by the Vice Mayor John Marvin Yul Servo Nieto, Congressmen, and members of the City Council.
227 barangays were a part of the initial distribution round, which got underway on Thursday.
It further stated that about 700,000 boxes will be distributed by the city authorities.
By December 12, 2022, “The City of Manila is anticipated to complete the distribution of the over 700,000 boxes,” it continued.
For “noche buena” (Christmas Eve meal), each package includes a variety of canned foods, including corned beef, fruit cocktails, spaghetti sauce and noodles, milk, and cheese.
