The Philippine National Police’s Unit Performance Evaluation Rating (UPER) gave the Police Regional Office 5 (Bicol) a rating of 96.47 percent (PNP).

The performance of the various PNP offices and units is evaluated using the UPER system, according to Lt. Col. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, PRO5 spokesman, in an interview on Tuesday.

“We (PRO5) ranked No. 3 over other PROs for the month of November 2022, which is a result of the unit’s unwavering devotion and determination to bring about change and transformation in the field of law enforcement. According to Calubaquib, “the monthly UPER parameters include strategies and measures that are crucial in implementing discipline, law, and order, recruitment, and selection process ensuring personnel morale and welfare, assuring placement and promotion, management of personnel and records, and personnel plans and policies.

She claimed that the arrest of 1,019 drug dealers and the recovery of 1,359.79 kilos of marijuana and 14,207.34 grams of shabu, estimated to be worth PHP96.8 million, were among PRO5’s accomplishments in 2022.

With 5,701 fugitives detained, the vigorous effort of the unit against wanted people was highly successful. 614 different firearms were seized as part of the campaign against unsecured weapons, she noted.

She said that the PRO5’s seizure of 142 NPA rebels, the capture of 258 NPA rebels, and the death of 33 NPA militants all aided in the war against insurgency.

In the meantime, 2,530 uniformed PRO5 personnel have been elevated to the subsequent level.

According to Calubaquib, there are 2,346 police non-commissioned officers and 184 police commissioned officers (PCOs) (PNCOs).

The simultaneous swearing-in, donning, and pinning of ranks of second-level uniformed troops under the calendar year 2022 regular promotion program was presided over by Brig. Gen. Rudolph Dimas, PRO5 regional director.

Dimas praised the people who were promoted and their families in his greeting.

“Your promotion today is more than just a recognition of your prior efforts and successes. It demonstrates your readiness to take on new obligations and perform even better in the future, according to Dimas.
