Before the end of June 2023, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is anticipated to travel to France, according to Michele Boccoz, the French ambassador to the Philippines.

According to the envoy, Malacaang has accepted the invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron and has agreed to host the state visit during the first half of the year.

The trip’s deliverables, which may include agreements on creative industries, film co-production, and information and communications technology (ICT), among other things, are now being worked on in Paris and Manila.

On March 8, a high-level political meeting is slated to further discuss the potential areas of collaboration between the two presidents.

Food security, energy, marine security, climate change, biodiversity, as well as links between people, according to Boccoz, are the priority areas.

She added that France is “extremely keen” on encouraging business interactions between French and Filipino investors.

There is a lot of interest, so she hoped that before the visit, there would be more firm arrangements in place.

“It’s simply a question of time,” the invitation was accepted.
