A one-day medical-dental mission organized by the Ako Bicol (AKB) Party list in an upland town in the province of Albay on Friday benefited more than 1,000 residents of remote communities.

The “Tarabangan Caravan” mission was carried out in Barangay Poblacion, Manito town as part of the priority programs of AKB and President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to provide health services to the populace, according to AKB Representative Elizaldy Co, chair of the House Committee on Appropriations.

Co stated that the activities “provided medical services and other government programs to the residents of remote barangays of Manito, Albay particularly those who have difficulty accessing health services.”

He added that the AKB party list is supporting the construction of a world-class medical facility in Manito town.

“We will build a fantastic health center here, therefore it is crucial that you have access to healthcare services. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) bidding is all we are waiting for. So that the next time it’s not simply a medical mission, you ought to have access to health care services here in Manito, Co stated.

He said that the super health center will receive between PHP15 and PHP25 million.

“The fund is only getting started; we’ll keep giving this town the health care it needs. According to Co, construction will begin in the third quarter of this year.

The party list was hailed by Manito Mayor Rebecca Dayap-Chan for providing people with free healthcare services.

“My constituents will benefit greatly from this activity. We won’t spend money only to visit the hospital, and we won’t travel to Legazpi for a checkup. Rep. Elizaldy Co, who is on the Ako Bicol Party list, has our sincere gratitude for providing this chance to our people, Dayap-Chan stated.

A job fair, a free massage, and a free haircut were also provided to the public in addition to medical and dental treatments.

Upland Manito is a town located 47 kilometers from Legazpi City.
