Taguig opens a lakeside attraction for Holy Week.

In order to provide Taguiguenos with a space to contemplate during this Lenten season, the Taguig City administration officially unveiled its “Life of Christ” exhibit at the TLC Village in Barangay Lower Bicutan.

From Holy Tuesday through Easter Sunday, the attraction is open from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.

The municipal government said in a statement that residents of Taguigue can contemplate Jesus’ suffering, death, and resurrection at various locations throughout the park, which includes The Stations of the Cross, a Prayer Corner and Prayer Boxes, and Art Installations.

The local administration added that each of the 14 panels, which depict the events of Jesus Christ’s last day, included an appropriate Bible scripture, a thought, and an exercise or inquiry.

People can put down their prayer requests in the Ask Jesus section, light a candle in the Prayer Corner, and use the Prayer Boxes to beg for spiritual blessings.

The TLC Square also has a black interactive Cross installation art piece where people can write down their sins and bad habits on black paper and nail them one at a time to the cross.

Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano visited the park with the hopes that Taguiguenos, irrespective of their religious beliefs, would concentrate on being grateful for the greatest sacrifice made by Jesus Christ who redeemed the world from sins.

She continued, “I also urge the younger generation to learn about and participate in the Passion of the Christ, particularly at this time when our youth are facing so many difficulties.

To have a more meaningful Holy Week, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano meanwhile urged Taguiguenos and the city’s authorities to keep in mind two very basic commandments:

Love yourself and others as you love yourself, and above all else, love God with all your heart, soul, and mind.

To safeguard the public’s safety and security during Holy Week, Southern Police District (SPD) head Brig. Gen. Kirby John Kraft ordered the deployment of 815 police personnel.

The SPD includes the municipalities of Pateros and the cities of Makati, Pasay, Taguig, Paranaque, Las Pinas, and Muntinlupa.

There are 82 sites of worship in the six cities and one municipality that makeup SPD, which will be protected by 323 police officers, in addition to 46 police officers who will staff one-stop-shop help desks in key locations.

A total of 141 police officers, including 110 assigned to transit hubs, would guard important thoroughfares, according to Kraft.

The 109 police officers assigned to the southern metropolis’ 46 business zones will not include the 86 officers posted to malls and other hubs of activity.

In a second statement, Kraft stated, “The SPD will perform a huge preparation for the Holy Week and our people are ready to respond to any scenario that needs an urgent response.”
