The route for the motorcade and parade of the Black Nazarene image on Good Friday was announced by the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene, also known as the Quiapo Church, on Thursday.

Around 1:00 a.m., the religious event will begin.

Originally, organizers promised that security officers had been deployed since Palm Sunday, April 2, the beginning of Holy Week, to ensure the protection of visitors visiting the basilica and attending all of the events for the yearly observance.

The motorcade and parade’s route is as follows: Turn right at Plaza Miranda-Villalobos and proceed down Carlos Palanca, Plaza Lacson, Carriedo, Evangelista, Gonzalo Puyat, Quezon Boulevard, left at Palanca, Quezon Boulevard, right at Arlegui, Left at Legarda, Left at Conception Aguila, and right at Carcer.

Moreover, right – Hidalgo, left – Bilibid Viejo / G. Puyat, left – Guzman, right – (under) Palanca, right – Villalobos, Plaza Miranda / Quiapo Church, and right – (under) Quezon Blvd.

The Quiapo Church also emphasized the need for attendees to follow safety precautions.

This year’s Holy Week commemoration has been made possible by the government relaxing restrictions in response to the country’s better Covid-19 situation.
