The weather bureau announced that more regions have been placed under tropical cyclone wind signal (TCWS) No. 1 as Tropical Depression (TD) Amang has expedited its approach to the coast of Catanduanes Province.

As of Tuesday morning at 11 a.m., TCWS No. 1 had been raised over the following regions: Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Albay, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Quezon (Pitogo, San Andres, Buenavista, San Francisco, Calauag, Infanta, Lopez, Catanauan, Mulanay, Guinayangan, Unisan, General Luna, Plaridel,

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Agency (PAGASA), these locations may encounter severe gusts that are close to gale strength that could pose a low to slight threat to life and property.

Amang was last seen traveling westward at 30 kph, 270 kilometers east of Virac town in Catanduanes.

The TD has winds with gusts up to 70 kph and maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center.

Throughout the forecast period, Amang is still anticipated to stay in a tropical depression. By Thursday or Friday, it is anticipated to fade into a low-pressure area.

For the following three days, Amang is expected to stay offshore over the waters east of Luzon, but a landfall over the Bicol Peninsula region is not completely ruled out, according to PAGASA.
