The Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) will take place in October, and the Commission on Elections (Comelec) is planning to begin printing an additional 1.6 million votes then.

The ballots will be printed at the National Printing Office (NPO) in Quezon City, according to Comelec Chairman George Garcia.

We will produce an additional 1.6 million official ballots in May of this year. In an interview, he explained, “This represents the additional registered voters from the registration period from December 12 to January 31,”

“The Election Registration Board (ERB) hearings took place in the previous month. More specifically, there are 1.6 million, said the head of the polling organization.

In March of last year, the Comelec had already printed 90,613,426 official ballots for the village and youth elections.

He mentioned that they are also getting ready to train teachers to be electoral board (EB) members.

This August, our teachers who will act as EBs will undergo training, according to Garcia.

He continued by saying that they had begun packing the election-related supplies that were getting ready for deployment.

The BSKE is scheduled on October 30, 2023.
