Palace welcomes the resignation of the SBMA chief
Rolen Paulino has resigned from his position as the chairman of the board of directors and administrator of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), it was announced on Thursday.
Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin informed Paulino that President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. had accepted his resignation in a letter dated April 13.
On Thursday, the Presidential Communications Office made a copy available.
In order to “give the President a free hand to choose who deems best to steer” the SBMA and the Subic Bay Freeport Zone to “greater heights” in terms of management and new commercial opportunities, Paulino presented his resignation with effect from April 15.
“As an obedient soldier and devoted public servant, I will follow the directions from the Office of the President. I have faith in the President’s good judgment because he is more knowledgeable, Paulino stated in a statement.
On March 1, 2022, former President Rodrigo Duterte appointed Paulino.
