The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will shortly release a thorough master list detailing the relocation of all-electric poles located inside rights-of-way (ROW) across the country.

The DPWH Legal Service and Regional Offices Right-of-Way and Legal Division (ROWALD), according to Undersecretary for Legal Affairs Anne Sharlyne Lapuz, will also publish instructions on the validation and prioritization of payment of ROW.

In 2023, we have a budget of PHP50 million, she stated.

The DPWH representative further stated that ROWALD had agreed to take initiative and pay attention to the relocation of obstructing power poles, a problem that frequently arises, particularly on ongoing and recently enlarged highways across the nation.

At the conclusion of the conference, Lapuz stated, “We have decided to develop a standard procedure in the actual and physical validation of electric poles located within the government’s ROW.”

The subject was covered last month at the second DPWH lawyers’ coordination meeting.

She also mandated that DPWH and the National Electrification Administration closely coordinate on potential courses of action.
