A reminder was issued by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) to companies to remit employee contributions timely.

In a news release on Monday, acting president and CEO of PhilHealth Emmanuel R. Ledesma Jr. said, “In celebration of Labor Day and honor of our workers’ hard work, we would like to remind all employers, both public and private, to remit and report your employees’ PhilHealth premiums on time.”

Ledesma reaffirmed that firms might send their employees’ payments to PhilHealth in a secure and simple manner by using the EPRS, the state health insurer’s Electronic Premium Remittance System.

In collaboration with MyEG Philippines, “we recently improved the EPRS, our online payment system for employers, to give them more payment options, including debit and credit card payments as well as electronic wallets GCash and Maya,” the official stated.

“The EPRS has also streamlined the payment process. The employer or PhilHealth Employer Engagement Representative, or PEER, only needs to generate the Statement of Premium Accounts (SPA) for the monthly payment; after that, they can select their preferred payment method and proceed with the transaction, he said.

According to Ledesma, a payment confirmation email will be issued immediately to the employer following each successful transaction.

“Maaari pong i-access ng ating employers ang EPRS sa PhilHealth website, https://eprs01.philhealth.gov.ph,” he continued.

To support Republic Act No. 11032, also known as the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act, which requires all government departments and agencies to adopt a digital payment system for government disbursements and collections to promote efficient service delivery and speed up transactions, Ledesma said PhilHealth partnered with MyEG Philippines.

In 2021, PhilHealth enabled self-employed people to contribute through its Member Portal by utilizing GCash, Maya, credit cards, and debit cards.
