Recently, Prasoon Kumar, co-founder and CEO of Singapore’s Billion Bricks, and Marilene Acosta, CEO of Pag-IBIG Fund, met to examine potential areas of collaboration in creating net-zero communities.

The two leaders are confident that this cutting-edge business strategy would protect the environment and lower the cost of homeownership for Pag-IBIG members.

Net-zero communities are environmentally sustainable because they produce as much energy as they use.

Billion Bricks intends to construct such communities in which the money made from the energy produced will pay for 20% of the homebuyers’ monthly amortization. This will cut the cost of homeownership for Filipinos, particularly those in lower income levels.

Acosta stated that as long as it will benefit their members, they are willing to collaborate with Billion Bricks to develop net-zero communities in the Philippines.

According to her, it is the first business model of its sort in the world, and it aims to build affordable and sustainable communities for both the environment and Filipinos.

As the top home financing organization in the Philippines with a lot of experience striving to create good and affordable housing, Kumar said they are thrilled to join Pag-IBIG Fund.

He claimed that by working together, they could significantly improve the environment and the lives of the many individuals who aspire to own their homes.

The collaboration between Pag-IBIG Fund and Billion Bricks represents a significant advance in developing affordable, sustainable communities in the Philippines. The two leaders are dedicated to making this ground-breaking business concept a success since it can potentially transform the housing sector completely.
