A new ride-hailing company that looks like 5 PH cities will host the launch.
Five significant cities have been selected by a new ride-hailing business entering the Philippine market for its services.
On Thursday, InDrive, a worldwide mobility and urban services platform with headquarters in California, revealed that it considers Manila, Cebu, Davao, Bacolod, and Baguio as potential first locations for its presence in the Philippines.
In a statement, inDrive founder and CEO Arsen Tomsky stated that the company’s goal in entering the Philippine market is to offer Filipino commuters transportation solutions.
“Ride-hailing services are not only convenient but also essential. Moving around might be difficult as the world returns to being busy, especially for those without cars. In addition to allowing drivers to earn more money, we intend to lessen this load, added Tomsky.
He continued by saying that the Philippines is a crucial market for inDrive’s growth in Southeast Asia, where the ride-hailing industry is anticipated to reach USD20 billion by 2025.
The business claimed that after establishing itself in the five cities, it would collaborate with neighborhood businesses to provide additional services.
InDrive Mobility provides courier and freight delivery services between cities along with local transportation.
Tomsky claimed last week that inDrive applied for a license to operate a transport network vehicle service to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board in January of this year.
After acquiring main rival Uber, Grab now controls the country’s four-wheel ride-hailing business.
“The inDrive app lets users suggest a fare for their trip. Without fear of punishment, drivers are free to accept, reject, or counter-offer, according to the business.
With 175 million downloads, inDrive, formerly known as App Annie, is the second-most downloaded mobility program in 2022.
It provides two billion rides annually across 617 cities in 47 countries.
