Senators refute the oust-Zubiri plot.

On Monday, senators backed his leadership despite rumors of a plot to have Juan Miguel Zubiri removed from office.

It was the second time coup rumors have surfaced; the previous one did so in March, allegedly due to Zubiri’s position that the Senate should not prioritize Charter revision (Cha-cha).

Zubiri had previously stated that he would resign if most of his colleagues requested it.

This time, it is allegedly a result of the Maharlika Investment Fund bill’s acceptance.

Senators indicated they don’t have any preparations to oust Zubiri in separate statements.

Since the Senate President is well-liked, according to Senator Sonny Angara, it is unlikely to occur.

“The same goes for his team of Pro Temp Sen. Loren (Legarda) and Majority Leader Sen. Joel (Villanueva), who are very good at their jobs,” Angara remarked.

The rumored candidate for Zubiri’s position, Senator Jinggoy Estrada, refuted the coup allegations.

“I dispute that. That is not accurate. During the “Kapihan sa Senado” forum, Estrada declared, “I am not talking to anyone. Wala rin akong kinakausap. “Walang ganun, na magkakaroon ng kudeta sa Senado (nothing like that, that there would be a coup in the Senate),” the speaker said.

Senator JV Ejercito emphasized that Zubiri has the complete support of the majority.

“That’s not true at all! Senators are quite happy with Migz Zubiri’s leadership as Senate President. Since it will be impossible for anyone to fill his shoes, Ejercito said, “I don’t think anyone will even try to wrest the Senate’s leadership from him.

According to Senator Nancy Binay, such rumors should not be entertained since they harm the Senate as a whole.

All I can say is that we are all satisfied with the current leadership and affirm that SP Migz has the support of the Senate’s members, she stated.

Zubiri is not required, according to Senator Robinhood Padilla.

“Bagama’t ako ay bago, hindi ko nakitaan si Sen. Migz na may kakulangan siya,” the speaker said. Even though I am a novice, I do not view Sen. Migz as lacking anything. Kuntento ako sa kanya. I’m happy with him),” Padilla told reporters for the Senate.

Legarda already refuted any leadership transition in a Thursday interview.

Even though he is really, extremely weary, Sen. Migz is incredibly friendly and always smiling. And I believe that his tagline, “The Hard Worker of the Senate,” fits him. You ought to observe his process, she continued.
