💔📢 The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has renewed its calls for more than 150 Filipinos still in violence-stricken Sudan to evacuate immediately.

✈️🏢 DFA Assistant Secretary Paul Raymund Cortes reported that 29 of these individuals are already waiting for repatriation in Port Sudan, where they will travel by plane to Jeddah or Doha.

⚠️🇸🇩 Getting flights to transport the repatriates from Port Sudan to neighboring cities has been challenging, particularly due to the influx of visitors during the Hajj season in Saudi Arabia.

📣 The DFA reassured all Filipinos who wish to leave Sudan that they are ready to assist them.

🚨💵 Filipinos choosing to evacuate through Port Sudan or Egypt are advised to inform the Philippine Embassy in Cairo in advance and ensure they have sufficient cash to cover their expenses.

⏳ The waiting time in Wadi Halfa and Port Sudan averages around 10 days or more.

📝🛂 Those who decide to stay in Sudan are urged to register their personal information and location with the Embassy and always carry their valid passport.

🔥 The outbreak of violence between the Sudanese Armed Forces and Rapid Support Forces has led to thousands of people fleeing the country, raising concerns of a “full-scale” civil war.

🚁✈️ Recent airstrikes and renewed fighting in various states of Sudan have caused further instability and displacement.
