Employees at 7-Eleven are being vaccinated throughout the country
The exclusive licensor of 7-Eleven in the Philippines, Philippine Seven Corporation (PSC), has begun to vaccinate its employees and their dependents against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) for free, assisting the government’s inoculation efforts and speeding up the country’s economic recovery.
“Our involvement in this vaccination initiative is consistent with the country’s efforts to combat the pandemic’s difficulties. It will also offer a significant push for national economic recovery, which will benefit us all,” PSC President and CEO Jose Victor Paterno said in a statement on Monday.
PSC has collaborated with AC Health (Ayala Healthcare Holdings) to deliver the vaccines in 18 locations throughout the country since the campaign started on July 28.
As part of the Go Negosyo private sector alliance, it bought 80,000 AstraZeneca vaccinations.
PSC personnel, including its 3,100 corporate employees and over 8,500 front-line employees in corporate-owned and franchise shops, franchisees, third-party service providers, and selected suppliers, may now get the vaccinations as an alternative.
“As part of our commitment to serving over 3,000 communities throughout the country, we’ve taken the lead in obtaining vaccinations to protect our workers’ health and safety. Vaccinating our workers also helps to reassure our consumers that they are in a safe environment when they purchase at a 7-Eleven,” Paterno said.
PSC has agreed to give half of the vaccinations to the government’s immunization program.
However, since a number of workers have already got the vaccines via their individual local government units (LGUs), any remaining dosage will be given to the government in addition to the original 50% commitment.
PSC is also a partner in the Ingat Angat Bakuna Lahat campaign, a private-sector-backed initiative aimed at reviving the economy by enabling the people to resume their normal activities in a safe manner and encouraging vaccine uptake.
Apart from the immunization campaign, PSC is dedicated to safeguarding the safety of its workers and customers by ensuring that all of its shops meet the minimal health and safety requirements.
Face masks and face shields are required in all of its shops and offices, as are frequent hand washing, physical separation, and regular cleaning of commonly touched surfaces.
7-Eleven shops restrict the number of consumers permitted inside in order to effectively apply physical distance measures, while also encouraging customers to use contactless payment methods.
