The word of the year is ‘vax,’ according to the Oxford dictionary.

The Oxford English Dictionary named “vax” the word of the year on Monday.

“Vax is our Word of the Year for 2021. When our lexicographers dug into the data from our English language corpus, it became clear that vax was a very striking term “It stated, alluding to the vaccine acronym.

According to the statement, vax was a rather infrequent word in the corpus until this year, but by September, it had been used 72 times more than it had been the previous year at the same period.

No one term was referred to as word of the year last year as the Covid-19 issue erupted over the world in 2020.
