QC will add pop-up immunization clinics in malls.

Quezon City is expected to launch extra vaccination locations this week in order to accommodate more residents and expand the city’s vaccination program.

The city will add 21 special pop-up sites, 16 in malls and other institutions, and 36 regular venues, in addition to making drive-thru and house-to-house immunization for the bedridden more accessible.

Since face-to-face courses have been postponed again due to mounting Covid-19 cases, school grounds will be used as additional immunization sites.

The Smart Araneta Coliseum, which acts as the city’s mass immunization site, will reopen on January 15.

The city’s three hospitals — Novaliches District Hospital, Quezon City General Hospital, and Rosario Maclang Bautista General Hospital — all have vaccination areas on their grounds, and some private hospitals, such as Providence Hospital and Montano Ramos General Hospital, have pledged to help through the Adopt-a-Barangay program, which will house selected villages.

“We went all out last year to reach our goal of 1.7 million immunized adult persons in record time.” The same techniques will be used this time, including maximizing collaborations with the private sector, such as malls and business establishments, churches, civic associations, and other stakeholders,” stated Dr. Maria Lourdes Eleria, coordinator of the QC Task Force Vax to Normal.

Government agencies in the city have also been cooperating with QC for the group vaccination of its staff.

Residents of Quezon City can register online at www.qceservices.quezoncity.gov.ph/qcvaxeasy.

The official website www.quezoncity.gov.ph and the official Facebook page are updated constantly with information on immunization sites and timetables.

The city does not permit walk-ins to avoid big crowds.

“We’ll be actively seeking for people who haven’t been vaccinated yet and encouraging them to get their Covid-19 vaccine shots as soon as possible so they may be protected against the virus, which has been rampaging again since late last month.” This is in addition to our responsibilities to treat Covid-19 confirmed victims in our Hope facilities or through our home care program, as well as to track down close-contact individuals,” QC Mayor Joy Belmonte stated in a statement.
