The Covid-19 situation in the National Capital Region (NCR) was defined as a “serious outbreak” by the OCTA Research Group on Tuesday, with the average daily attack rate (ADAR) jumping to 89.42 percent from January 4 to 10.

The OCTA Research Group stated in its most recent assessment that NCR’s current ADAR is over the threshold for a major outbreak, which is greater than 75 per 100,000 people per day.

The ADAR for the week of December 28, 2021, to January 3, 2022, in the region was merely 12.71.

Its recent seven-day optimism rate jumped to 48 percent, up from 20% the week before.

The percentage of Covid-19 tests that were positive in a given area or region is known as the positivity rate.

“The reproduction number, or the number of people a Covid-19 case can infect with the virus, has dropped from 5.65 to 5.22, indicating that the trend has halted marginally,” according to the OCTA.

According to the report, hospital bed occupancy in the NCR has risen to 57% from 27% the previous week and is expected to approach 70% next week.

The NCR is classed as very high risk for Covid-19 based on all of the measures mentioned.
