The Department of Health (DOH) in Region 13 (Caraga) said Monday that 326 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases were documented in the region, surpassing the 50,000 number of illnesses as of Sunday night.

Since the pandemic entered the country in 2020, DOH-13 claimed 50,436 total Covid-19 infections have been recorded in the region.

“Agusan del Sur had the newest illnesses with 140, followed by Surigao del Sur with 64,” according to the DOH-13.

On Sunday, this city had the newest infections in the region, with 46, followed by Tandag (23), Bayugan (15), Bislig (13), Cabadbaran (11), and Surigao (10) (1).

On the same day, Agusan del Norte had seven infections and Surigao del Norte had six, whereas the province of Dinagat Islands had zero Covid-19 illnesses.

Three new recoveries were also recorded on Sunday, bringing the total number of recoveries in the region to 47,350.

One further fatality was reported on Sunday, bringing the total number of Covid-19-related deaths in the region to 1,904.

Meanwhile, the DOH-13 announced that as of January 16, a total of 1,169,347 residents in the region were fully vaccinated, accounting for 41.61 percent of the target population.

Moreover, during this time, a total of 2,488,226 doses of Covid-19 vaccination were delivered in the region.
